Costs & Payroll
Overheads, staff payroll and fleet. These feed the operating costs on the dashboard.
Company assumptions
Enter rates as decimals — e.g. 0.20 = 20%. NI & pension are applied on top of all wages. UK corp tax is 19% on profits up to £50k, 25% above £250k (marginal between).
Directors salary + dividends
Salary is paid via PAYE (a company cost). Dividends are paid from profit after corporation tax — see the affordability check on the Dashboard. Tip: setting salary to your personal allowance is the usual tax-efficient split.
Overheads monthly £
Payroll
Weekly = hours × rate. Monthly = weekly × 52 ÷ 12. Direct staff are tied to a product; overhead staff are general.
Fleet monthly £
